You don't have to return the person to her doorstep for this reward. It's $2500 for any credible info. You could be paying out dozens of people that bring in new information in a case like this.

Often rich people and their loved ones are kidnapped for the purpose of extorting money. It's common practice south of the border.

If you know about someone kidnapped and don't say anything you're a POS however the design is to get people to even turn on their own friends and family. POS's will do that. Remember reading about a guy who put up a $10,000 reward for it and some dude turned his own brother in to get the reward. Funny thing was the dog there was no reason to steal it, but the guy had also stolen guns and some other things, one being a SBR (short barrel rifle) and that resulted in the thief getting a 20+ year sentence.
