Maybe I'm the only one but I do care about her career/education.

1) It's a lot easier to raise kids and plan for the future on $300k than $150k

2) Intelligence/social skills/ambition are genetic. I don't want my kids to be lazy retards.

3) I want someone I can have an intelligent conversation with.

4) No chance of alimony/divorce rape if she makes more than you.

To some extent I do also care about this. But it's also something that's pretty far down the list and I'm more likely to compromise on this than other things

For instance, if some woman was a like a world class baker and made amazing desserts and made bank from selling them but she was fat I would rather date the average girl working at Starbucks who was into fitness and eating healthy.

That said, I would also prefer a smart girl next door type with a good career than a smoking hot girl working at Starbucks..... so there's degrees of compromise here.

But yes I do think it factors in. I very much value someone smart and successful that I enjoy talking to.

I didn't really care about career. But I do value a wife who is driven and smart for the reasons @MiscDetective and you mentioned. My wife is a stay-at-home mom, but she volunteers at church, does home school, and is elected to the local library board. She's a college graduate but we had our first baby shortly after she graduated and she's never worked a career job.

Finishing college shows a certain amount of intelligence and work ethic and is a good thing to me. Obviously, plenty of dumb lazy people graduate, too, so it's not something I put too much stock in.
