Are you at peace with the fact you are going to die?

I have been freaking out about this for years and I can't even fully comprehend the full weight of this reality.

So one day I will be a dead smelly cadaver being stuffed in a plastic bag by maladjusted funeral home workers who will make morbid jokes about my corpse.

This just freaks me the fuck out.

Not my experience at all. This is what boomers say because they feel proud and hard saying that. But in reality they wake up in wild panic thinking about the Reaper

My mom's 95 year old friend always says she's ready to go every day.

What if you ended up living another 10-15 years and wasted your 60s thinking you were already dead

One time I saw this and it changed my perception of death- I completely rewired my brain to accept it. I was like you too. Obsessed with the idea of dying. What helps me is thinking about it as a natural part of life. If fees unnatural but it isn’t everything dies. It might also help to have a spiritual belief but I think those get tricky.

I had my death epiphany at age 19 or so, and have been very comfortable with the idea ever since. That was a very good time to have it, because it allowed me to not give a single fuck going forward.

Nope. It’s my biggest fear. In my early teens I had panic attacks after thinking about it too deeply for too long. There was like a full week period where I couldn’t focus on anything else and it just scared me to my core. To this day I avoid thinking about it. Thanks for fucking with my psyche, OP.

Death on earth isn’t the end. Our likeness, our consciousness, soul. Still will exist probably in a more higher more perceptible form of life than here.

Yup. When I was 14 my best friend died in a freak accident. It fucked me up. Ever since then I’ve been paranoid about who will be next and extra cautious about how I live my life.

When my grandfather was on his death bed, I talked to him and the fear in his voice sent chills down my spine. This was a man who was in the military, a lifelong tradie, tough FOB Sicilian who never showed weakness. When it was his time to go, he was not ready. Not at all. The thought of getting older fucks with me now. I turn 30 this year and it puts a pit in my stomach when I think about that too.

I REALLY hope Christianity is the truth.

I've had an unfortunate amount of friends and family die young, my biggest takeaway from seeing the fragility of life is imagining myself as an old man reminiscing about the good ole days of my late 20s- live each day to the fullest so that my future self is happy with looking back, or if I die young, I'd like to think I've had a big enough impact on others that my memories will keep them companies for decades to come

I don't know if I'd say I'm currently at peace with the concept of death, but when it rears its head, I'll be as ready as I can
Have fun and be yourself :-)

What would you like to know specifically? It ain't all it's cracked up to be. Badly paid and filthy work. The upside is though that it is calm and you don't have a manager riding your ass.

I fucking hate people who act all high and mighty. My dad is one of those people. I hate him with a passion. Sure it makes me a bad person, but I can be honest about it. Fucking narcissist assholes always fronting acting hard and proud.

Yes, it's fucked up. Totally fucked. Even the totally best case scenario, a guy like Bill gates

-born into wealth
-tall
-not bald even today
-decent looks (let's be real)
-commands the universe through his billions

Even this guy is going to drop dead and it will all be over

Brutal
