I think I read somewhere that we didn't evolve for speed, we evolved for stalking prey over long distances.

Yeah but they didn’t run marathons, bench press or do ice baths.
They walked the land and used tools to hunt.
So maybe walking in nature and easing up on the weights and running would be optimal.
I really don’t know lol … just thought this guys ideas were at least interesting

other primates are brutishly strong because they swing tree to tree. Super physical. There lots of focus now on long slow distance for various types of training. More mimics what we would do naturally. Long, slowish travel.
I think for the average person, calisthenics, some light HIIT and lost of low intensity walking mimics how we were supposed to live and is very beneficial. But what do all the clickbait articles say? all you need it 20 minutes a day! lol
I sometimes do human powered winter camping expeditions. Chopping ice, setting up tents, cutting wood and hauling heavy toboggans on snowshoe all day. Its absolutely exhausting, and you sleep super well at the end of the day. You are literally doing moderate physical activity for a week straight in the cold.
And at the end of it your body adapts, and its less hard. Comfort is the enemy, really, our bodies are designed for that type of living.
If you want a good book, read "the comfort crisis", by Michael Easter. For the author, the hunting trip he did was pretty eye opening. For me, that kind of thing is just another thursday. But it reinforced in me the idea that the way the average person lives, and embraces comfort is totally wrong for so many reasons.

Mirin your lifestyle. I work from home all day at a desk and it’s awful. Can never sleep, yet I’m always tired.

Took a bite of raw liver out of the first deer I killed. I was excited, lol.
Gave me gas for a week that smelled like something crawled up inside me and died.

While I can eat it, I don't actually enjoy liver either. Cooked or otherwise. Which is weird, because enjoy strong flavored wild duck and stuff

You need to be careful with deer.
A lot of them are eating human trash and pesticides they shouldn't be eating.
Consider yourself lucky.

Man controlled Fire has been around for 1-2 million years
That means people are adapted to eat cooked meat, humanoids were eating it before modern humans existed
It's the same with cow milk,.we literally adapted to drink it with lactase enzymes but some claim it's unnatural when caveman were doing it
Even animals benefit from cooked food. They live twice as long in captivity and that's from cooked food, clean water and antibiotics and vaccinations.

start a bait barrel close to a place where locals dump off deer guts/carcasses in the woods. they are never far from those dump spots
[/QUOTE]
I don't have a good public ground spot nearby that would be easy to maintain a bait on. I've talked for years amongst a friend group about setting up a bait and then rotating through the group for maintenance, but we've never committed and done it.

Got a 400lb bear this past summer coming out of a guys kitchen. Was a nuisance bear that had broken into about 50 places, but was giving me the slip.
