Started out good but it's degraded into a complete and total troll forum. Too much antisocial behavior is allowed to flourish.

Nobody is going to want to go here if it's just a small group of middle aged sociopaths trying to be bully anyone who comes around here.

I mean I know most of you who act like this do so because nobody will give you the time of day IRL and you got some serious unresolved issues, but trying to drag everyone else down into your miserable little world is ruining this forum.

Worst thing is the toxic user crew are just really boring people. They never have anything interesting to say, they never do anything interesting, and have the sort of presence most people try to distance themselves from. It would be one thing if they were interesting or fun people but they're not, just some losers with shitty personalities.

Bro you're one of the few genuine users on this site. Like a real OG miscer who is just fun and friendly to talk to, that does interesting stuff and has a good personality. Wish more people like you were here but it feels like all the users we lost since BB.com shut down the OG misc has really hit us hard. It was bad enough losing so many good users in the transition to newmisc, but we lost even more good users on newmisc and in the transition to this forum.

What really hits this forum hard is it's lack of anybody new. It's like only a handful of users are genuine and the rest are only fucking up the vibes around here. We have no real exposure on search engines, nobody here seems like the type of person that is friendly and social enough to bring in new people, and even if we somehow miraculously managed to get any new users they would probably be quickly chased out by the usual suspects.

I just don't see any future in this place, and AllFather seems to be too slow at developing it and too complacent with toxic activity.

Yeah you're one of those classic users I would honestly hang out with IRL, but you're one of the rare exceptions. We really lost too many good users and it seems like the worst, most toxic assholes are always the type of users that keep coming back and are on here the most. I was hoping there would be more people like you on here but this just isn't a community that I think anyone besides trolls and sociopaths would find attractive anymore. I think when it comes to people like you and me, we're simply here because of habit, nostalgia, and wanting to keep the OG misc alive.

I also think AllFather isn't doing the lack of new users situation any favors by making registration so difficult. Nobody wants to be jumping through hoops and dealing with bullshit to post on a forum like this in 2026.

I think the fact that just about everyone avoids forums these days speaks volumes about how toxic they have become. The only popular ones are places like reddit, 4chan, and kiwi farms. Basically total bot/gov psyop shit or absolute degenerate hotspots. What you don't seem to find on forums anymore is normal balanced friendly people with social skills who nice to talk to living fun and productive lives.

Even on big reddit subs that are better than most, you are for the most part interacting with people who come off as autistic or lacking in social skills.

I think those of us who really enjoyed forums during their glory years chase after the way they felt but just about everyone has moved on for a good reason. I felt like maybe this place could be salvageable as sort of a fun open topic community, but the way it's been turned into a sociopath feeding ground has doomed any growth it could have had.

I think that's the problem with forums and why they died. The anonymity simply appeals to the predators of the internet so now everyone likes to know who they're talking to.
