The same people who keep telling you that Iran is winning and the war is a disaster have been practicing for the past 4 years telling you that Ukraine is beating Russia and how Russia is collapsing.
So out of 13000 missions raiding your country, you manage to finally shoot down a 4th generation strike fighter, the pilots both eject deep inside your country and you send all hands available along with your special forces, even set a bounty of 12x the average person's income for your citizens to try to nab them, and the enemy sends in their people, on your territory, they end up engaging your people, bait your forces and gets some of them killed, they manage to rescue their pilots, and all you are left with is a wreckage of two cargo planes that got stuck in the sand and they torched so you can't get anything from them, I wouldn't say I was winning. All this crap about "all that equipment lost" is pure cope. They are so mad they didn't get a POW to parade around.
The Gulf War which has always been considered a massive success and very one sided fight, Iraq managed to shoot down over 75 aircraft, 26 of them fighter jets by day 45.
