I don't do the grey blending shit I just go for full color. And yeah 10/10 results. Between haircuts the only real gray that even shows back up is in my sideburns because it's so short. The girl who cuts my hair also did a good job of matching the color to my natural color really well I think which helps.

I almost tried some boxed shampoo hair color shit. I bought a pack of it then started reading how it can stain your fingernails if you don't use gloves and all this other shit and I just said fuck that and did it at the salon instead.


If you have the money just have it done at the salon is my suggestion. We got a lot of penny pinchers here on the misc (either that or they're just flat our poor which could also be true) that shit on spending money on anything of quality. If you're going to color your hair you might as well do it right.

I've been coloring my hair for years to get rid of the grey. A $10 bottle of Garnier Nutrisse and 30 minutes later I'm good for 2 months.

I was going to recommend womens hair dye as well. Also, try to go a little bit lighter than what is on the box picture than your natural color unless you're trying to go darker than natural color. It usually ends up being darker than it looks.

The box shampoo is messy as fuck and it gets everywhere if you aren’t careful. I tried it once and it stained my ears and forehead. So had to scrub to the point of bleeding.

I came into work the next day with jet black hair, dye in my ears and a scabbed forehead and everyone made fun of me lol

Salon looking like the number one option so far.

Yeah after I read how easy that boxed shampoo can stain various parts of your body I bailed on it for that reason. There was 0 chance I would have been able to do it carefully enough. I saw that bad idea coming a mile away.

Yes. I have no problem with people wanting to go to a salon to get it done, (heck I do it too) but there are products out there now that work the same as a salon. What would I know...I've only been coloring my hair for years lol...

I color mine black though so it's pretty simple. :)

I don't see how hair colour is that hard to figure out.

GF manages it in about 15 minutes including some of the dreads, just goes in and you leave it then wash apparently.

Here's the thing...maybe it's not easy for guys because they're not used of doing it. As for all this talk about staining, etc...that's not a big deal and it comes right off when you shower. You can apply vaseline as a barrier in places you think you might stain forehead, ears, etc... If you have any female friends have them do it for you...were good at that stuff lol...

Also cut it myself. Was about 26 bucks 20 yrs ago. Googled, and apparently a men's hair cut here is now 47 - 63 bucks, lol.

Yup. I use vaseline on my forehead and cheeks near ears. I also make sure to have wet paper towels ready to wipe off any that drips right away.
