Trump unilaterally announces an indefinite ceasefire with Iran

Lmao. TACO Tuesday. But I am one hundred percent for it, and clearly trump understands that any further escalation and resumption of hostilities will tank the world economy. And he doesn't want to eat that shit sandwich

He is going to have to concede on some things in negotiations. Bombing for 30 days didn't work, a blockade isn't working.

Trump will try to spin it, but either way you slice it, conceding to Iran will look horrible politically (rip MAGA party)

But the other thing is, this looks really bad on a world stage. The U.S. couldn't force its will on Iran... Couldn't protect its Arab allies... Its looking more and more like the world is headed into a multipolar system.

Like Rubio himself said... Even U.S. sanctions will start to lose their power...

Trump might have sped up the process.. He really shouldn't have went into Iran

The spin is hilarious. He’s saying somebody else ASKED him to back away, even though the entire world knew he wasn’t going to do a fucking thing.

Massive egg on the face of his administration and a total embarrassment.

Can someone explain the latest situation as this shit gives me a headache and makes no sense to anyone who isn't a Trump fanboy.

Basically right now there is a ceasefire but Iran and the US are BOTH blocking the strait? Isn't that what Iran wants anyway as the longer nobody gets through the worse it gets for everyone?

I don't see what a blockade will achieve as the Iranians are in a position where they are willing to go to any depths to hurt the world economy as that will create global resentment to the US? (which it already has).

US and Israel are already extremely unpopular among the youth who will rule the world in the coming 40 years

The U.S. blockade is trying to try strangle the Iranian government from making any income. During the 30 day bombing campaign, Iranian oil was still being loaded and shipped... Everyone else wasn't allowed to pass through.

So the blockade is trying to stop Iranian oil from getting through... Basically, trying to cut Irans economic lifelines. But Iran isn't budging so far. Its about who blinks and gives in first

So as a result:

- USA spent a current estimated $50 billion USD
- Iran now has a regime which is younger, is more resolved and has unified the country. Similar to how the CPV of Vietnam became the dominant party politically after sending the USA home.
- Iran is now even more inventivised to get nuclear weapons and could go down the road of Pakistan where they acquire nuclear weapons using Chinese assistance instead of raw dogging it.
- They know they can control the strait quite easily which they didn't before and this has formalised their position as being the prime controller similar to Egypt in 1956.
- All Gulf countries now can't really trust or rely on the US anymore and have been weakened to the point they may have to pay tariffs to Iran for strait access or their entire economies go into recession.

How is this not a disaster for the US? Someone please explain to me how this is making America great again

It is a total disaster for the US. Like being cucked on a Vietnam level but in only six weeks instead of six years. And it's obliterated any standing for them around the world as well, because what few friends they had left are now turning away.

Trump should resign in disgrace, or be fired, but we all know that isn't going to happen. As soon as he gets destroyed in the midterms he will be impeached or the GOP will turn on him and 25th Amendment him so Vance can take over.

It might be a disaster for the neocons but if the end result is no more US bases in the region + israel too afraid of being nuked to keep murdering civilians it is a major win for humanity collectively

I hope Trump is tapping out of this embarrassment for the final time and isn't gonna pop back up and start talking shit again.

He's never done that in the past but there's a first time for everything.

That undersells the scale of the disaster because right now the Strait is effectively still closed and the destroyed oil infrastructre will take years to repair. A global recession is locked in IMO and a global depression is on the cards. Bright side, it could be worse because the US and Iran are not currently destroying more infrastructure.

But yeah King Trump is continuing to weaken the US's position on the global stage and this is easily his worse misstep so far, which is quite a fucking bar to vault over.

The first is possible, then second is impossible while he's alive and able to speak. He clearly has a malignant personality disorder of some kind.
