Aerosmith frontman Steven Tyler has been accused of grooming, sexually assaulting, and impregnating a 16-year-old in the 1970s in a lawsuit first filed in 2022. While much of that case has been dismissed due to the statute of limitations, a portion of the case will still be tried, meaning Tyler will be heading to trial.Last week, a judge dismissed most of the original case, citing the statute of limitations in Massachusetts, where Tyler and the alleged victim lived during their three-year relationship. However, they reportedly crossed state lines while Tyler was touring the country with Aerosmith—including to California. Because of California’s 2020 statute, the Child Victims Act, which allows an additional window in which alleged victims can file lawsuits regardless of the time that has passed, a portion of the case is still headed to trial.

16 is legal in Canada , and there only an issue if the age is too far apart . But I can’t see that in this case . Asking for a friend

I believe in any state where 16 is legal what is known as Romeo and Juliet laws apply.

You can only date a person who is under 18 if you are within a certain number of years of their age…..and it isn’t a big spread. Like two or three years I believe.

How is creating a new law and using it retroactively legal?

I'm not advocating anything, but I'm pretty certain that's unconstitutional to make new laws and go after people who committed the new law before it existed. (Super Ded fkn Srs)

They did it in New York to go after Trump, so E. Jean Carrol can sue him. And then they closed the loophole back up when they were done. Like wtf?

It was called the Adult Survivors Act.

Diddy and a bunch of other people also got caught up in it.

Edit: Her parents signed over her rights to him. If anything she should've taken her parents to court...but I'm guessing they're dead now...

Yeah I didn't follow it either. But she filed the suit in 2022 when she was 65, so it sounds like she is hard up for dough.

If it really bothered her, you figure she would have been really triggered when he wrote about it in his 2011 memoir. Still took her 11 years after that.

I'm guessing her money ran out and here she is.

This is just becoming a way for women to get a payday making things all that much harder for those that have been through real sexual assault to be believed...smh...
