No unfortunately there’s no reversing , just management . Once the cells are insulin resistant it’s over . If you lose weight and stay active you require less insulin, so it’s a good idea to get in better shape .
But regardless, my friend has diabetes type 2 and lost 80 pounds and walks all fking day ,but if he has anything sweet his blood sugar just goes up again dangerously high .
By exercising he did manage to get off insulin, but you still can’t eat anything good without further damaging your pancreas .

Got my lowest morning reading so far .
7.0 is the max so I’m still out of range , but it’s a start. Btw I can literally tell when it’s too high by the way I feel . When you wake up and feel like vomiting I know it’s around 10 or over

Faurk , well I had a good run I guess

brah you need to binge watch jason fung and check out his ebooks/audiobooks. torrent them if you dont want to pay.

type 2 diabetes is reversible.

just right now your insulin sensitivity in fked and you became insulin resistant over time because of it - so your body has an issue pushing blood glucose from the blood into cells, and taking fat out of the body. its like a 2 way entrance that doesnt work properly.

the insulin your body creates isn't doing its job property, and that is why type 2s need extra insulin shots to force the blood glucose out of the blood whch results in instant weight gain from the insulin shots, as it gets forced into fat, and because they dont address and fix the insulin resistance, over time they need even more shots as they become more insulin resistant. decades ago they said this was a progressive disease because they were treating it the wrong way

jason fung and other doctors talk about this on youtube extensively. it comes down to fixing diet. like eating only vegetables (low glycemic index), so your body re-adjusts to be able to process carbs properly (hence why you cannot eat high carbs/fats together as it will make things worse right now - and why kids are getting obese because they develop insulin sensitivy/ and then resistance early).

so you can eat only veg/potatoes to allow your body to try and reset and produce enough insulin to fix insulin sensitivity, over time, weeks/months, that diet will then lower your insulin resistance too. fasting helps lower insulin, and walking etc will improve insulin sensitivity.

it goes way beyond just calories. when you are insulin resistant even fasting the body struggles to break down fat as it cannot access it easily, but its not impossible.

there are tons of videos of his patients that show their blood work, and they all lost like 50+ lbs, some 100ls+. some 70+ years old.

just you have to make the effort, and stick at it for a couple of months, and then it will get a lot easier

There’s no question it’s progressive . It’s just that I had no symptoms till after I got black out drunk rinsed that night .its almost like I drove the last nail in the coffin.
So far I’m not on insulin, but they want to see another blood test b4 they can pass judgment, so I’m being very cautious. Probably forever though .

Tbh as bad as this food situation is , I think I’m going to miss getting rinsed once a month . I watched a video and it seems like low carb alcohol actually lowers blood sugar , but regardless, it’s still killing pancreas cells and the next thing you know maybe I’ll end up on insulin.
I’d be happy to have just a 6 pack of Coors light once a month , and not get overly drunk .
Guess I’ll pass it by the doctor one day , but I’m sure my tours over

That being said, I probably won't make it to 65 (ded srs)

Well I would have taken my diet a little more srs had I known this was going to happen . I quit eating at DQ and Arby’s , and started earring at Edo Japan and Quesadilla and lost over 20 pounds . Wasn’t actually e en trying to lose weight , it just happened.
But unfortunately I have one fk of a sweet tooth lately, and because of my injures I was not burning off excessive glucose , and sure AF it bit me in the arse .
I guess job one is to stay active in some capacity

I think you're gonna do it brah. You're getting bloodwork which is probably good (I haven't gotten bloodwork in over a decade). But yea, I was young without the bloodwork, fair enough. Life's a gift. Keep that electronic motherfkr in check (glucose monitor), and you're good. Here's to another 30 or 40

Stay active, always. That's what my college professor told me basically. Always

Ya ideally I’d like to lose around 50 more and get to 200 . Best case scenario would be in the 190’s , but that ain’t gonna happen.

Yes it’s definitely an awakening. It’s interesting, as I’ve ate nothing but meat and vegetables for the last few weeks , walked every day and pumped iron the best I could , and it hasn’t changed my weight by one tenth of a pound .
Eventually I guess

You need to give you body time to adjust. Things should start moving along within the next couple weeks.

Trust the process :)

Yeah this is def one of those "slowly but surely" things. It will take some time but as others have said you can def turn this into a positive. You got this. Even a minor weight loss like 10 lbs helps tremendously simply by having less strain on your organs.

How's your ankle doing? Have you fully healed yet? I had one ankle injury a few years ago. I was out for my late night walk and rolled my ankle in a massive pothole. Mine took a good year to fully heal...

Just got it xrayed earlier this week and waiting for a response. It’s not liking these walks , and the other injury, the fractured tibia is also giving me more issues as I continue to aggravate it .
. The tibia is fractured on the tip above the ankle from 1997 and has a calcium deposit over the fracture , so unfortunately it cannot get blood to the bone in order to heal.
I have found that if I don’t exceed 1.75 miles that I can tolerate it , but 2 miles is a major issue for both the foot and the tibia .
Ya I’m a fking train wreck lol

Have you tried breaking up your walks? Maybe if you tried shorter walks through the day, take a break and spread out your miles through the day. Don't try to do it all in one shot.

Just a thought. :)

I actually thought about that , but . I don’t do well on pavement so I drive to that park I’m always posting pics from. Ideally I’d like to walk after every meal , but srs I don’t want to drive there more than once a day ideally . There is a closer option but not a place I really want to go to .
But you make a very valid point.

Well it’s time to get off the couch and go hit chest b4 I lose interest lol . Hopefully tomorrow I hit a record low on the meter

Well for the first time I got 7.0 mmol/L this morning . The threshold is 4.0 - 7.0 , so we’re all gonna make it .
Srs though I read raw garlic lowers your blood sugar , so I ate a garlic clove b4 bedtime , plus my cinnamon
My breath is going to be stinky AF again , but it’s not like I’m married or something.

. I needed a snack at 1AM and against my better judgment ate a small bad of smoked almonds. I thought that was going to fk my numbers , but when I got up , but numbers were good .
I did chest yesterday also , so that probably helped . I purchased an arm sleeve for my right arm from Medi Chair last week , and here’s hoping it helps . For 140 bucks I at least hope it does.

Got my incline dumbbell presses up to 55 pounders , although that’s not great it’s a start . The pain was nominal, and I find the lat machine seems to aggravate the tendons more than anything atm , so I’m hoping the sleeve helps mitigate it a bit tomorrow
