I went out to a social event thinking I'd just grab 1 beer for myself. Spent $14 on that (rip off)

I'm trying to befriend more people, guys and girls, so I talked to some dude. He had gotten all you can drink ticket for the night so he got me a drink.

And we met a pretty 24 year old white girl who was there alone (I'm 41 btw). I suggested that we go to another spot and the girl agreed. The guy I met came along too.


When we were walking there, the girl was saying how just 1 shot of alcohol would be ideal to get the good vibes going and was asking me if I think she can find a guy there who will buy her a drink. She had told me she's a student and I could tell probably doesn't have much money. I rarely go out so we went into the club and I didn't mind paying for 3 shots for us. I couldn't believe I was spending $50 on these strangers. I didn't want to leave the guy out and only buy the girl a drink, right?

We danced and it was all fun. Then we club hopped to another place, waited in line but line was not moving, so walked back to another place. By then, we had all sobered up and the girl was asking how 1 more drink would be ideal. At the new club, I ended up just paying for everyone again $60.

I should've honestly tried to take her back to my place and it was just me and her at the end of the night in my car. But it was 3:30am and I was so tired. I had the perfect segway back to my place because she was looking to use a bathroom and needed to charge her phone but I was so tired, not thinking straight, so took her to her car.

Point of the story is that I spent $115 on random strangers with nothing to show for it and they didn't spend anything. My net worth is $1M+ so this money is not a big deal but it still sucks when that money could've been used for myself on something useful.

We all exchanged numbers so I have their contacts but not sure if anything will come out of this.

Now I go to my weekend job today and will make most of this money back.

You put yourself in that situation. That girl probably wanted to fuck by asking "I wonder if a guy will buy me a drink there". Some women are gold diggers, but a lot are conditioned to feel like a drink is a precursor to an ONS, she was even trying to rizz you up with the bathroom/charge phone line.
