A Chinese BotNet is Currently Visiting Us

Hi

The 502 errors and overall slowness over the past hour are caused by a very aggressive botnet. Based on the logs, it appears to be primarily originating from China. The traffic looks like automated scraping rather than a traditional DDoS attack.

I have deployed countermeasures that are currently blocking the majority of this traffic. As a result, users accessing from China may temporarily be unable to reach the forum.

I'm monitoring the situation closely and will keep you updated.

Why would a Chinese website be scraping here? What copyright stuff do we have from China? Are they seriously doing it to build AI data from the misc?
