I lost at least 200k dollars in crypto scams over the years

The biggest mistake I made in life was thinking I could make it big, that's how you lose big. The better way is to just work hard, frugal max, have low expectations, and try to live a normal life

I had a friend's friend lose $1M recently on a crypto scam. Scammers set the hook by months of FaceTime calls and inflating his holdings to $1.6M showing big gains. One day he woke up and checked his account balance and it was $0. He called the phone number and it was disconnected. Scammers were allegedly based in Canada but disappeared like ghosts after the scam. Sad. They say that you can't cheat an honest man. Your own Greed is often your worst enemy. Look at Madoff.

One of the biggest mistakes I see among people in crypto is falling for the "HODL" meme...I think people just have a fear of missing out on the "next bitcoin" opportunity, so they believe every shitcoin they "invest" will be the one... Usually doesn't end up that way.

99% of alt coins are absolutely useless and provide nothing. Use crypto to increase your USD, and then use that USD to put it into the stock market, where actual legit "assets" are. Because eventually, these coins will return to the original price you bought them at and probably go much lower.

Basically, buy low, sell high.... (easier said than done, i know)...


Just dont fall for the HODL meme, or that any of these shitcoins are real "assets" that are going to change society, because they aren't

Fuck crypto. The only incentive to buy/use it was that it's untraceable and untaxable. But that's no longer the case. I already learned my lesson on gambling through blackjack and poker in the early 2000s.
