I worked in broadcasting for nearly 30 years and have recently quit. Computers and automation and AI have slowly taken all the jobs there away anyway. Now I will just sit back and watch the world burn.

Personal Insurance broker for high net worth families.

AI is great for automating redundant tasks but will not take over my job of advising clients.

AI has been amazing for my family for personal usage (planning trips, explaining general handyman tasks and helping map out our landscaping and gardens)

I am a military pilot and IMO it's extremely concerning. I am not so worried about losing my job.

I am VERY worried about what happens if/when we achieve AGI and the implications of that.

IMO it will completely destabilize the current order and it's hard to imagine a future where the average person ends up better off.

Im an architect and i dont fear it one bit. Some AI tools have made my life easier mostly things around 3d rendering.

Construction is too complex and too regulated by many industries and interests so i dont see "robots" beating real craftsmen any time soon

i dont think it will take as many jobs as ppl think i just think it will bring a 1984 survelliance state if we arent already there.

the powers that be know they need to keep people working/ on the treadmill with stick/carrot. or people will start sitting around with no jobs and shit will hit the fan.

nbobody wantrs to deal with robots or see robot art/works. nboody will watch AI made movies. ppl will go to stores where there is still human interaction etc

I agree with this. If the elites allow AI to eliminate most jobs, their security will be threatened when the people inevitably revolt. This could happen in various forms like the BLM riots in 2020 or the Bolsheviks in 1917. Humanity left without daily instruction or squeezed by economic pressures turn into savage creatures, historically.

It’s far easier to just invent fake jobs and keep normies comfortable enough in wage slavery.

50 years ago people predicted the Information Age would greatly reduce the number of working hours. Computers were expected to automate so many tasks that full time schedules would be reduced in half and humans would spend their lives pursuing hobbies. That turned out to be completely fucking bullshit. New technology = new work.

AI will probably be used as a tool for the foreseeable future (decades). Some jobs will be shed in the short term, but what will likely happen is people will be hired to babysit AI. Very boring, tedious jobs, yet ones that keep us in the system.
