Anybody else not trust dentists? (SRS)

i go to a new dentist every year to get a new opinion. every time i get a different opinion.

last year i was told one tooth in the bottom left of my mouth needed a filling done. i was skeptical, so i didn't do it.

this year i saw a new dentist who didn't even mention the tooth from before. he said that a tooth in the top right of my mouth needs a filling done.

i swear most of the time they recommend fillings that are not even necessary. they are just trying to make a quick buck off of ignorant patients.

fillings permanently alter/damage the structure of the teeth. i don't want some slimeball drilling into my teeth if it's not necessary.

i did research online and apparently a lot of cavities can heal naturally if you improve your diet and dental hygiene. but there is no money in that, so of course dentists will be rushing to drill into your teeth.

Yea theyre scum they will lie right to your face so they can remove a tooth or xray u for no reason leading to bad health issues

i used to go to a bad dentist and he did my fillings he would drill too deep and hit the nerves & caused them to become infected later on . i wasted thousands of dollars on teeth that needed fillings then years later had to have them pulled because they stayed infected under the tooth .

The worst part about this specific practice is that it is so difficult to prove any type of malpractice most lawyers won’t even consider taking cases.

People should just not use dentists unless absolutely necessary.

Phukkin hate 'em... I had a tooth break,and then it abscessed. I let it go for 2 yrs with pain, swelling, occasional fever.
The abscess got deeper into the root and ruined the tooth next to it. (Both on bottom, out back). Finally went to a new dentist.

Sent me to an oral surgeon. Some rice-patty guy (some sort of Asian). Dude was brutal. Took pliers and started breaking off pieces at a time, just snapping them out sideways, yanking, etc.
Got it to a point where he could grab with some tool and yanked like crazy for a good 5 mins. Finally got 'em both out, lots of pieces on the tray.

A total clown. The thing he used to stitch looked like a large fish hook (curved). I have two broken upper wisdom teeth that need to go. (40 yr old fillings finally let go).
I wont be going back to "Dr. I. Yankem"...

I haven't been to a dentist in almost 10 years. Just brush your teeth 2-3 times a day and always floss (Super Ded fkn Srs)

Nope, admittedly haven't been to one in a long time either (since I left the Navy).

I also remember once as a teenager - my mom took me to a new one...I'd gone my entire life up until that point with only one cavity/filling - this guy claimed I had 3. Sketchy as fuck.

I lucked out and got a new dentist . It’s actually the main dentists son . His first name is Mike , and I’ve nick named him Magic Mike because he is so good at his job.
When his dad gave me needles they hurt like fk , as I think he was pushing them in too quickly. But Mikes are more like a mosquito bite , and his seem to take better .
He’s the best I’ve encountered with drilling to . I told him one time that he’s so good that I suspect we could even forego the freezing srs

prevention is key in life. maintain a healthy lifestyle to prevent medical issues in the first place so you don't have to deal with doctors at all.
