Mirin chicago btw - kind of - I was in the area once. 1993/94 christmas as a freshman in college I got invited to go and stay with a friend and his family in glendale heights I think it was. Went to a christian college that first yr in FL and couldn't believe how welcoming everyone was - never tried to convert me either.


It was some record kind of cold when was there - not sure about official numbers but it was dangerous to be outside so they shut down schools and the signs downtown showed 70 below with wind chill. Never felt anything like it.



I don't have many pics from that break, but still got some hand written gl wishes from ppl there which I put in my photo album.
