What are your thoughts on the band "Killswitch Engage"?

I'm a little late, but I just got into their music recently. I knew them mostly as the band that did CM Punk's old entrance song "This Fire Burns"

They're playing tonight in my area. Tickets still available. I'm debating whether to go

It's cool how their lyrics have some kind of positive message ("I belieeevvee / There is hope for better days") .. apparently, they used to have a black dude as their singer, and his time with the band is when they peaked in popularity. But I like the OG singer who's with them now

I like this song:

They have a few bangers but I find that most of their music/sound is very linear. Its like if you heard one Killswitch song you have heard them all. I have seen them live though and it they put on a good concert. If I had nothing better going on and the tickets were reasonable, id go see em.

This.

Their first two albums are good. If you like them, check out Shadows Fall.

Ride the tiger!

Howard Jones also did a song with this chick...

It's a hot night. The mind races. You think about your knife: the only friend who hasn't betrayed you, the only friend who won't be dead by sunup. Sleep tight mates, in your quilted chambray night shirts.

Spot on. At one point they were probably my favorite band. They kinda fell out of rotation just because they do get a little repetitive.

I used to also listen to Children of Bodom around that time frame as well.

Howard Jones was the better vocalist for Killswitch but that was 20 years ago.

All their music sounds the same now.

I found their album last year to be good. I like "I Believe"

I hear people say that Howard Jones was the better vocalist, but it's likely influenced by who was the singer when you discovered the band. For me, Jesse Leach is better, but he was the singer when I first listened to them

Their early work was a little too new wave for my tastes, but when
"I Believe" came out, I think they really came into their own,
commercially and artistically. The whole album has a clear, crisp sound,
and a new sheen of consummate professionalism that really gives the
songs a big boost. He's been compared to Howard Jones, but I think
Jessie Leach has a far more bitter, cynical sense of humor.

For a band, it's okay, but when it's an automaker, it sucks.

Just a fair warning.. last OB'er that went to a concert ended up suspended from work and almost fired if his union didn't step in.. So if your non-union, you might want to think twice.

"Just they're... Howard's too black sounding for me."

OB'er ... what does that mean?

Google says "OB'er most commonly refers to an Obstetrician or an OB/GYN (Obstetrician-Gynecologist). This is a medical doctor who specializes in pregnancy, childbirth, and the female reproductive system"

Well, OB'er hasn't taken off as a moniker yet. It seems most people still say Miscers

I went last night. Got a cheap ticket off stubhub, about $25 below original sale price ... it was alright. The best song performed live is actually "This Fire Burns," which broke out a "CM Punk!" chant. I skipped all the openers -- Havoc, Iron Reagan, and Machine head
