The Official World Cup 2026 thread

Mexico - South Africa beginning now. I'm pretty pumped, because these games are a great excuse to go to the bar and drink at like 2pm on a weekday.

Just happy this is going on once basketball is over because baseball sucks. Then it's only 6 weeks to NFL.

Yeah, I really enjoy the World Cup. Last time in 2022 I was in South Africa, and we were literally going out to watch games at this local bar every night and it was the perfect beginning to going out and partying until like 3-4am for a few weeks straight. What a great December.

I'll definitely be at the bar for Canada tomorrow at 3pm

Born in Germany came to the States when I was young. Moved to ATL followed the Thrashers for the longest time who are now Winnipeg.

Been Following Arsenal since like 2001. Thierry Henry crew which funny enough he's on this FOX broadcast.

I had to look that up to make sure I wasn't crazy. I clearly remembered a Winnipeg Jets team in the NHL as a kid.

They existed from 1979-1996 then they became the Phoenix Coyotes. I had stopped watching sports by the time they disappeared since I was already a teenager by then

Tonight I learned that the Winnipeg Jets didn't exist for 15 years recently

Yeah will be a great match indeed Hakimi is dope man and Bonou great keeper too it's a solid team. Brazil got some weaknesses at fullbacks might have to start old ass Danilo at RB might be a space Morocco can exploit, BUT I think Brazil will just have enough. Vinny is a game changer like Mbappe, and ppl sleep on Cunha.

Gotta say the US looked impressive and Paraguay looked like garbage. Their defenders were literally terrible, a couple of times I felt bad for the keeper because he had zero chance.
