Pereira vs Gane
I am going to make a bet. I might even be wrong.
Gane does not belong in the same league as Alex P.
I am betting that Gane gets KO'd violently in the very first round.

I think Gane is getting underestimated in this fight. Ngannou, Derrick Lewis and Tai Tuivasa couldn't knock him out.
He fought beasts like Volkov and Aspinall and looked quite good.
I'm picking Gane in this one.

Could go either way, obviously, but leaning towards Gane in 3rd or 4th.
Alex has that killer mindset.

BTW, this is Alex's normal weight. All of his fights before, he had to drop weight, severely. This tells me when he hits, it will be lights out.

Alex is great and can certainly touch anyone and close it, but look how sloppy he looks vs a boxer.....hands down all the time etc. Gotten knocked out by a relative twink.
Pair that with someone used to moving around at the weight, keeping distance. And probably can take a punch or two as well.
Anything can happen - noticed these ppl's fight iq's are so low sometimes that you never know what you'll get.

This fight will be a decisive fight for Alex as a heavy-weight and a decisive fight for Gane.

I'm rooting for Gane, my brain tells me Pereira is likely to win, but I'd love to see Gane KO him.
Also, hope Topauira gets KO'd. He is a greater fighter, but I love seeing cocky guys lose.
I hope Lewis can KO Hokit, because Hokit is just pure cringe and annoying.
And finally, I'd like to see Sean O'Malley win

Firstly the boxer obviously spends more time developing his boxing skills and the other fighters have to train the other aspects of the game (kicks, clinch, grappling).
Secondly, what maybe looks like shit technique to a boxer, has a reason in MMA or Kickboxing/MT. The low hands are great for takedown or kick defense. Having a high guard like boxers makes you susceptible for double leg, single leg takedowns as you can't sprawl fast.
Also the front foot heavy boxing stance is a problem. It allows you high mobility in the upper body and great head movement. With low and calf kicks involved, your front leg will get chewed up though. You can do it occasionally to get out the way but if it gets predictable, your opponent will blast a hard low kick and you will have to take it with all your weight on that leg.
To the fight: Yes I predicted Gane to win but I was still surprised that Pereira didn't really get of anything except maybe one punch.
He seemed very hesitant in there. Maybe he got rocked early and was surprised from the heavyweight power coming at him.

Good points.
I made the comparison, not as expect mma fighers to be at the level, but just to point out the obvious difference in these days of crossovers, gimmicky fights, and the belief by many mma fans that their favorite strikers are great just seeing them hit bags etc. Plus had 2 6 packs at the time. :)
Will rep on r/c.
