Not even close. The only social media in the 2000s was Myspace and the beginning of Facebook which started as a way to connect college students from the same class. Even by the end of the 2000s it wasn't what it was today. Forums were still largely populated in the 2000s and highly unregulated. Hell even early 2010s Reddit was still like the wild west. I know it's a meme at this point but 2012 really was a shifting point.
