I have an appointment with my surgeon next Friday where he will take my wrapping off and I get to see my foot for the first time since I got to the hospital. I can for sure feel the edge of my stump on my toe, its freaky lol. I am excited to move to the next phase of healing (where I can bear weight onto my foot). Coming up to 2 weeks since the chopping. 2 weeks of laying in bed, LDAR sucks my dudes. Either way, pain is still dropping. I get pain/discomfort from swelling more than the injury at this point. Only taking one perc at night before bed since my pain seems to ramp up after 7pm. I am going to start back up at work next week but do WFH, most of my day is boring as shit so I might as well go back to stacking bread. Doctors appointment tomorrow, they will unwrap me and I get to see what my foot finally looks like.

you've been the talk of the town (at least in my area thanks to me). never thought what happened to you could happen, but now? totally obvious that it could most definitely happen to me. I legit mowed the lawn recently and panicked going downhill so what I did was the old ...sideways/diagonally down the hill.

I hope you get better. Who knows? maybe someday you will be telling this on a barstool at some Key West drinking-hole and garner the attention of the local-lass*.

* Key West is notoriously gay for decades so local-lass will probably be retired tradie man.

Okay just back from my follow up appointment. The good? The toe is healing up real nicely and they were happy to see the progress. The bad? They let me know that Ill be 2-3 months more of not weight bearing before I can even start PT. I was hoping to be back in the saddle sooner. Kinda bummed right now. Either way, pics!

You don't have to answer, we know you went to the same guy that gave @explosivemidget his iconic haircut.
When it comes your time to die, be not like those whose hearts are filled with the fear of death, so that when their time comes they weep and pray for a little more time to live their lives over again in a different way. Sing your death song and die like a hero going home.

Nightmare is the way I have been putting it lol. Yeah I would say that I would wear sneakers 10% of the time, steel toes 20% of the time and my hikers 70% of the time. Im going to this 100% of the time in steel toes in the future. Learn from my mistake/accident please.

Decided to take another week off on medical leave from work. As much as I think I can get back, I still have a number of appointments to go to. Figured it would be better to not burn PTO right out the gate. Sleep has been bleh since the surgical cast came off. These pins are sticking out my foot and makes things pretty uncomfortable.

I went out to breakfast this morning with my dad and it was a very motivating experience, kinda gave me a small taste of freedom again. I think I am going to be picking up a knee scooter here this afternoon as well, might as capitalize on my time here.
