The withdrawal is when the anxiety happens, like probably 12 hours after the last drink. But it depends on how much you initially drank. That's why people who use alcohol to combat anxiety end up having it worse and they either have to continue drinking more or they turn to other dangerous substances.

It’s not only the anxiety but every bad thing about my life is magnified so I become extremely depressed.

Sometimes I’ll go downstairs to the store and pick up a case of beer and drink it so I don’t have to deal with that shit for at least until the next day.

Yeah it's one of those things where you can put it off but eventually you're going to have to face the music and endure a period of withdrawal and anxiety. Although some people just never want to face it, continue drinking non stop, and of course end up with liver damage. One of the factors as to why I haven't drank in 7 years.

I went 48 days without it and it was the best I’ve felt since I started drinking in high school.

I figured I would have a few drinks, call it a night but of course I blackout.

I think I just need to stay away from it. I truly believe alcohol is the root of every single one of my problems.

It’s an evil substance for some people.

I’m not anti alcohol though, I know a ton of people who can enjoy it responsibly but I go off the fucking rails. Something happens in my brain where I don’t have any off switch and my regard for any consequences goes completely away.
