So I'm reading muh popular-mechanics magazines this morning while reading coffee...and i about spit it out when I read that a black man invented the super-soaker water-gun. His name is Lonnie Johnson and he seems like a super-smart dude, mechanical engineering degree, Air Force & worked at JPL Pasadena (NASA).

So the super-soaker was invented in the 1990s and high-capacity gun-violence seemed to also occur then. In addition, to a lesser degree there was the rise of gang-related rap music (muh Eazy E, muh Dr. Dre East Coast West Coast beef, I dunno...thats the extent of muh rap knowledge). So makes me wonder did kids shooting each other in a amplified state via water-gun cause some consequence related to the increase in actual AR15 shootings?

Now, gun violence has LONG been a problem in the inner-city (black yoofs) but it seems amplified to me but I'm not the most knowledgeable about violence-trajectories in greater society either.

Naw, the supersoaker itself didn't cause them to go rabid.

its a lot of thing, I was aware of what you posted already. I just think the super-soaker didn't help. That said, I think if Algebra somehow was trending during that time...it wouldn't have a made a positive affect either.

Maybe just a coincidence rather than a correlation re: ssoaker.

Supersoakers didn't make all the WHITE kids turn into violent, murderous felons....


I probably had 8 supersoakers, and my friends all had their own sets.

Not a single one of us shot a human being, or caused the death of another person. And we had MASSIVE water wars, with grenades (balloons) hoses (fully automatic assault supersoakers) and more.

Though we are white.

So whats the difference?

Why did millions of white kids use supersoakers and never harm a human, but the blacks went so insane they now account for half of ALL murders in the country? Even though they are a tiny percentage of the population?

I did write that if you read my post. I specifically suggested it may have been a contributing factor to the increased gun violence. However, the counter is No, there are just more blacks or even more likely it was a coincidence.
