Based on the photos, I’d give it 4.5 stars.

Salt and Brick has one of the loveliest atmospheres and interiors I’ve seen in a restaurant. The menu appears to offer a good variety and changes with seasonal availability, which is always appreciated.

From what I’ve heard and read, the standouts are the squid tempura and the miso-grilled sablefish. The squid is known for being perfectly tender with a light, crisp tempura that isn’t overly greasy. The miso sablefish is often described as a true chef’s kiss, with a melt-in-your-mouth texture and complex flavors that complement rather than overwhelm the fish.

One criticism I’ve seen is that while Lari’s Buns made with house-made milk bread are very good, the orange butter can overpower the bread itself. A simpler butter might allow the quality of the bread to shine more.

Overall, the food, service, and atmosphere seem to be above average, and it’s definitely a place I’d be interested in trying.
