Showing your receipt at the door is a great test to determine if you're an easily controllable conformist
Just because an employee asks for your receipt when you're exiting the store doesn't mean you have to abide
Once you've paid for your item it's your property
There's no reason you have to "prove" it by presenting your receipt as you exit the premises
Most people do though if asked because they don't like dealing with potential confrontation if they refuse to do so
It shows how easily controllable most people are when an "authority" figure asks them to do something and they unquestionably abide
Feels smug breezing past them without acknowledging their existence when they ask to see your receipt or giving a defiant "Nope" to totally dismiss them as you stroll by

The only “terms” to a shopping store is to provide money for a product.
You don’t sign shit when you go shopping bro.
A representative can have you trespassed, but if they do that discriminately, which is an easy line to cross, they are opening themselves to a law suit. Additionally, it is really bad business to call the cops on your customers when they have not broken the law.
If they call the cops, just be gone before the cops get there and call corporate. They will handle that shit.
Weird little egomaniacs think the store will back them. The store doesn’t give a fuck about you proving yourself. They have AI facial recognition in their cameras.

The Legal Framework: Shopkeeper's PrivilegeUnder the legal doctrine known as "Shopkeeper's Privilege," merchants in most
jurisdictions have the right to detain a customer for a reasonable
amount of time if they have "probable cause" or "reasonable suspicion"
that the customer is shoplifting.
If they had suspicion:
If you were acting suspiciously, or if an employee genuinely believed
you didn't pay for an item, they can briefly detain you while they
investigate or wait for law enforcement. In this case, a lawsuit for false imprisonment will likely fail. If they had no basis:
If you simply walked past a receipt checker and were physically
blocked, grabbed, or locked in a room without any actual evidence that
you stole anything, you may have grounds for a false imprisonment claim.

They have to be able to say what specific behavior you did that led them to that conclusion and that behavior has align with “reasonable” standard. That is any reasonable person would believe that behavior meant they were stealing.
It is literally a form of evidence. They cannot just say they have a suspicion and act on it.
I know the law much better than you or the AI you used to look it up just now.
Cops try the same shit and fail regularly when citizens actually know and enforce their rights.
