Forget fighter for a second, use the example of a basketball player who doesn't know how to fight. There is an enormous physical difference between an athlete and a normal person. An untrained basketball player could handle a few cops on his own.

Consider yourself, you don't know how to fight, but you could easily take out 4-5 10 year olds couldn't you? A basketball player and a cop could weigh the same and be the same "size" but the difference in physical capacity is as much as between you and a 10 year old.
