I think many “jobs” are just marketing and holding legal structural integrity. I don’t think the performance of individuals in most jobs matters as much as just having someone there.

Remember, being successful only requires deceiving everyone about everything. You can be successful at anything you want that way.

Right, but a business should do a profit/loss analysis where "what exactly do you do and how does that benefit the company compared to how much we pay you". If that number runs negative, time to look at that position. When Elon bought Twitter, he found that half the people working there were a total loss. A lot of companies have followed this lead and that's why there are so many tech layoffs.
