Mario, making himself look stupid as usual. Mario is a peasant, he doesn't know that all high end steakhouses use what's called a salamander to finish their steaks. A salamander is just a really big broiler, and a broiler is just a really big air fryer.

Never change Mario.

JFC this is laughably absurd. Air fryers (mini convection ovens) reach temps of typically 400 degrees (I admit, some do hit 500 [my grill reaches 700 degrees so it's already superior to an air fryer ((mini convection oven))). The salamander reaches temps of 1800 degrees and DOES NOT CIRCULATE AIR like an air fryer (mini convection oven). So no, a salamander is NOT even remotely like a big air fryer (mini convection oven). Quit spreading Big Air Fryer propaganda. What you said is patently false and you're perpetuating lies and fake news.

You're comparing the flame from a salamander, to the air temp of an air fryer. That's not an apples to apples comparison. And you can turn off the convection feature in most air fryers. The future is air fryers, and you're just gonna be left behind.

My issue has never been with the final product of an air fryer (mini convection oven). My ENTIRE argument (backed by science) is that it is REDUNDANT if you already own a convection oven. The biggest two argument that air fryer (mini convection oven) sheeple use is that 1: it preheats faster and 2: it saves energy. Those top two arguments have been btfo by me, scientific studies, and actual chefs on Youtube. My convection oven heats up to 400 degrees in 8 minutes. Sure, the air fryer (mini convection oven) may preheat faster by 7 minutes, but that is NOT a realized time savings because you need to PREP your food and CLEAN your prep area. That's what I do in those additional 7 minutes so ZERO time is actually saved. Furthermore; due to the over engineered, crumb catching crevices, you actually LOSE time because you need to wipe down the oily exterior, wrap up the cord, paw aside other kitchen doo-dads, and stow away in a cabinet below (or you could leave it adorning your countertop like some redneck piece of art). Add to that, the oily exhaust STAINS back splashes and counter tops. Congratulations, you now have EXTRA cleaning to do. Then let's talk about the energy 'savings'. A standard sized 30" convection oven has 5 cu feet of space. An air fryer (mini convection oven) has .3 cu ft (fkn lol - pathetic). At roughly $.15 cents per kilowatt cost of electricity, a standard convection oven would cost $.45 cents (3 kWh) to run for 1 hour. An air fryer (mini convection oven) would cost $.09 cents to run for an hour. Congratulations! You. saved $.36 cents per hour!!!!!!! Now, a standard air fryer (mini convection oven) costs $150. You would have to use your air fryer (mini convection oven) FOR 416 FUCKING HOURS JUST TO COVER THE COST OF PURCHASE. I guarantee your air fryer (mini convection oven) will be broken before you EVER hit the 416 hours of use to simply cover the cost of purchase. That's the LAMEST argument I've ever heard.
