I was thinking about this the other day. We put in regulations to stop the abuses, but ignore the unintended consequences.

Look at environmental regulations. We do it to stop pollution, CO2, and dirty air, etc. It becomes harder to operate a factory in the US. Factory gets shipped to China. Pollution now in China. Pollution not fixed, just no factories in US now.

People complain about jobs being shipped overseas out of "capitalistic greed", while completely ignoring the regulations that make it hard to operate in the US.

If we are going to do these regulations, we need to become hyper-nationalistic and just not buy from other countries who ignore the regulations.

theres no real solution for over all society other than for it to collapse and start over again.

Yeah, the elites get rich in every system. But, the outcomes for the middle class are significantly better under capitalism. There is very little middle class under communism with the majority of the people struggling for even basic goods.

Those in power are using the system to satisfy short term gratification. There is no long term economic planning. It is just a bunch of assholes figuring out how they can fuck the taxpayer.

Bread and circuses used to be a major quote in right wing spaces. No idea why it got so popular again recently.

Bread = SNAP, Welfare
Circuses = Movies, TV, Sportball

I just wish I didn't have to watch TV/movies with LGBTQ+, bipoc, girlboss undertones. Or sportball where they take a knee during the anthem wearing their pride colors.
