Friend calls me, said they found this German Shepherd. I guess I'm who people call when they find dogs and cats for some reason. I go take a look at him, he's a long haired dog, skinny, fur is matted, has fleas and ticks, obviously unkept. Not neutered or anything. Has a beat up collar with no tags. Get him home, he's super nice, clean him up. He wont' respond to any names, just "hey you" or "hey dog".

I post online in some lost/found sites. This happened before, you start getting messages of people who claim it's their dog, no proof of ownership, no records, no pictures. Most of them are people who claim they know who the dog belongs to, but once again, no proof. Amazing how these people are such good samaritans out trying to find people's dogs for them. What's really funny is how quick they are to akj to get a location. Also they want me to give them pics and details of the dog. That's not how it works. Last time, I gave a completely wrong description and even sent a pic of my buddy's dog and they were like "yeah that's my dog". You can tell by their profile pics they are meth heads or it's a fake account. They see it's a good looking dog and want to try to sell the dog, breed it, or have some no good intentions.

I tell them I am taking him to animal control and that they said that because he is not nutered dog that was roaming loose there will be fines, and medical bills too, and they would have to pay to have all shots and him fixed to get him back. That shuts a lot of them up.

If I lost my dog and someone said they had found a dog, I'm going to send them pics and all kinds of details.

These people can't get regular jobs so they just hustle, scanning marketplace and craigslist looking to buy on the low and sell high or trade up or trying to find things to flip.

They're involved in witchcraft and need an animal sacrifice. That's how they get their animals

I gave away a couple of things and my inbox gets flooded with messages from illegals who are so pathetic and desperate that they want anything they can flip for three dollars, one used a white sounding name and tricked me. Now I just put crap out by the dumspter for other residents to take.

Have you ever seen the joy in the eye of a dog that has broken free? I would NEVER take that away from them, srs.

This is what strikes me about this dog. He met me and instantly wanted to be with me. Since then he has been by my side. He doesn't try to run away at all. This dog would not run away from a home with people who loved him.

OP that was my German Shepherd. I'll take him back after you neuter him, get all the shots, feed him for a few weeks, and clean him up obviously. Feel free to include a bed, a nice leash, and some toys

Called animal control to report and they told me I have to bring him to the pound over there and after 5 days if nobody claims him I can have a chance of adopting him. I asked what they have to do to claim him and government employee said when people come they go back there to find their dog and claim him. Yeah, whatever, someone can come up there saying they lost the kind of dog they are looking for and just claim him. Yeah I'm going to take this poor dog to the pound.

More news is that although he was just hanging around there and people were trying to shoo him away and saying they were calling animal control but they were closed all weekend, now that I have picked him up they are all pissed off about it saying I can't do that and how they are going to get the police involved. Section 8 government housing by the way. It's so funny how they will get mad if anyone calls the cops on them doing the crap they do and smoking weed everywhere but the second they see someone else doing something "wrong" they want to get Sherlock Holms and Matlock on it.


Wood redrum whole families srs. I see stray dogs and cats all of the time and I always like to think they will find homes and all of that but I know it's brutal for most of them. Humans domesticated them and bred out the ability for them to survive without us and then abandon them, it's just totally unfair.
