Do you think you can sustain it? That's really aggressive weight loss. You might burn out.

6 1. But the exercise I mostly do is cutting trees by hand via chainsaw. That will burn cals fast. Trying to get to 175ish then I will start lifting again for first time in 3 years

I've never been one to care about how many cals people burn in a day because to be honest, it's never accurate. As long as you're in a deficit with your diet things will move along just fine. Like I said 20+lbs in a month is not realistic. I was a nutrition coach for over 20 yrs...

If you're severely obese maybe and even that's not easy for most.

Lol, yep. I lost 20 pounds the first month on Ozempic and it was probably like 60% muscle. Just not even worth it.

I know 20lbs a month isn’t realistic. 15 is around the I can definitely do it but 20 is the goal. Only time will time. I post a thread when I weigh myself again.

The issue is not whether or not you can lose 20 twenty pounds, it's whether it will be beneficial. We generally have a limit to how much body fat can be metabolized and used for energy, and if we exceed that amount your body will use muscle for energy. Generally, the upper limit of energy extracted is thirty calories per pound of fat. That would mean you would have to lose least eighty pounds of body fat and reach a daily calorie deficit of 2,300 calories while maintaining sufficient protein intake to theoretically lose twenty pounds a fat. If you're obese, maybe aim for 3 pounds a week or twelve pounds a month, but past that it really is stretching it. If you're five hundred pounds, then okay, you can give that a shot.

There are a million threads of somebody who is inspired to lose a lot of weight and they come up with some hardcore program. And invariably, they crash out, and we never actually hear them talk about the results they've gotten, because they couldn't maintain it.
