Starting to think the highest performance Model 3 might be my next new vehicle

I've always had a thing for somewhat non-conventionally interesting cars that had a place in automotive history.

I think a Tesla owns that spot as sorta a now iconic brand in auto history while still being not THAT expensive and accessible to the masses.

I may go with the Performance AWD. 300+ miles range and reliable 0-60 of 2.9 seconds or less. Crazy performance 15-20 years ago for around $50k.

Only factor now will be checking the insurance rate vs Ridgeline.

The only fun thing is straight line speed. No noise, no skill to drive, no soul, and having to stop a minimum half hour once your battery hits 20% or less.

I lasted 3 months in a BMW EV before going to a six speed Mustang, which I did an exhaust and air filter upgrade on - waiting for a super charger now. Get that speed performance but with a manual shift and that sound, hnnnnnnggggg

mustangs are a dime a dozen...at least with a tesla you get to experience something automotively historical.

Get the highland model (2025+). Honestly just get the long range. Those cars are insanely quick and fun to drive, performance is overkill srs.

What argmjent do you think I'm trying to make other than having a piece of 'automotive history' is more important than a dime a dozen car that actually has nearly 15 times the unit sales rate making it more than a dime a dozen?

I think you'll also find the Mustang holds a far more significant place in automotive history than any model of Tesla outside of having a battery driven drivetrain.

I don't need a daily driver wjth camp mode to sleep in, that's why there's a 4WD at home so we can actually go out in the wilderness and camp in a tent or tow a camp trailer, vs parking up in some city and sleeping on the side of the street wjth camp mode activated like a homeless person.

A full upgrade replaces headers, improves air flow and allows the engine to operate more efficiently creating more power. If the byproduct is noise, so be it
