Do you remember the toilet paper phenomenon during Covid?

There was literally no threat of toilet paper ever running out, but for some reason people started grabbing it all up. Then word of people grabbing it all up spread though the media (or maybe this was the first step in a social experiment) so more and more people started buying it up? Which led to empty shelves.

The idea of a false scarcity led to a scarcity because of human nature.

What I see, is that same exact thing happening with tax payer money. For a very long time the government and the major corporations it is in bed with (has been purchased by) have tried to gobble up as much tax payer resources as possible. The fear of it running out drives those in power to take drastic measures to simply get as much as they can for themselves. Then the illusion of scarcity increases because of how much it is being depleted. It is a self propagating cycle.

If I remember correctly, after toilet paper stabilized and people had stockpiles of it and nothing to do with it, stores would not entertain any idea of a return. I hope that one stuck out to the tax payer. We might need those kinds of lessons.

PS: Don't eat poop, just don't let the idea of it stop you from living life to its fullest.

I ran out of toilet paper and started using face cloths. At one point I was in a pinch with no clothes so I used the rug on the bathroom floor
