You're right, but when I go to church, I don't tithe, I'm semi educated enough to know that tithing is an old covenant practice.

I never mind contributing to a collective good. The church is a societal function and if I participated I would be compelled to contribute. But that is for my own personal reasons.

No one should ever assume to make that decision for others.


The fact it is a rule automatically turns me off to the idea. That’s fucking hilarious. How worldly does it get? Then the fact that people use humans emotions against them (such as shame), in order to make them pay…I will make that shit uncomfortable so gd fast. Let me see some church official trying to make a churchgoer feel bad about their contributions. Their grandkids would feel the shame. I would ensure it.

Right, but does the average churchgoer understand that? I feel if they sincerely believed it wasn’t necessary church would be no where near as disgustingly profitable as it is.

I understand there is no authority mandating it. But I also understand the average church goer doesn’t understand that.

Does that make sense? I know I use a lot of words sometimes.

no they really don't, they're being taken advantage of just like in every other activity they engage in. as always, knowledge is power. you don't use a lot of words, just a lot of white spaces but i don't mind it.

That is why I can’t take stuff like the pic on OP serious.

I don’t see it as some progressive movement trying to be inclusive.

I see it as marketing and psychological manipulation. I hate it very much.

I'm not sure, they are probably putting off more people than they're attracting, especially people with deep pockets. I'd say it's politically motivated self destructive behavior, but you could be right.

It isn’t rational. It isn’t like that demographic is flocking to church lol. I mean they exist of course, but to base your whole thing on catering to a demographic that typically violates much of the core ideology is….
