Why did everyone hate Argentina?
In the World Cup.
Seemed like everyone was strongly opposed to them winning. France and Spain were both also recent winners but didn't get nearly the level of hate. Was it just a back to back thing?
To me it almost felt like the equivalent of the US becoming huge Yankees fans just to root against the Dodgers, which would never happen. Most baseball fans of other teams would just check out on that world series cause there's no positive outcome possible.

They had a joke of a path to get to the final other than the game against England and the refs helped them the whole way. Ironically, the player who got a red card today currently plays for the club I root for and is likely on his way to a Spanish team, Real Madrid. Maybe not anymore

Weird everyone I knew liked and was cheering for Messi and Argentina.
Everyone hated France because their French and everyone hated Spain because while they were the best team, the played super boring and defensive.

Egypt could've been up 3-0, but of course they took away a goal from them with VAR conveniently intervening. Also, in the first game Messi should've got a red card vs Jordan I think it was or Algeria can't remember, but I'm sure you can look it up on Youtube.
Also, Infantino, and his cronies at FIFA were hell bent on making sure Argentina won every game.
Their path was easy AF too lol at a group of Algeria, Jordan, Austria. Then you Play Cape Verde(Who they almost lost to) Egypt(Who should've won if not for the refs) Then Switzerland(convenient red card)
