I'm starting to think that not being able to have children is a blessing rather than a curse

Me and my wife have been trying to have children for like 10 years. A bunch of miscarriages and ectopic pregnancies is the closest we got to achieving that goal. Pushing 40 now and I gotta be honest, I don't see it happening anymore, and I think she is also feeling burnt out about it all.

Now this obviously sucks, failing to realize your goals and your biological imperative. But on the other hand, perhaps there are upsides. Like more financial security? Less responsibility?

Nevertheless I think it puts me at risk of missing my inheritance and my dad will funnel the money secretly to my sister who has children. So the financial benefits of being barren may be canceled out by boomer spite.

Anyone of you in the same boat? Thoughts?

If having children is a financial decision for you, you should definitely not be having children.

Think of it as a kind of Darwinism but for general achievement and IQ as opposed to genetic selection in the broader sense.

My life would likely be much different if I had kids, though of myself and 2 siblings I probably would have made the best parent, funny how that works out.

I don't want life to no longer be all about me, I want to be selfish, I want to be able to sleep all day if I choose then roll out of bed, make coffee, and play games for 12 hours, I don't want to have to worry about a kid.

And I wouldn't want to be a dead beat parent on welfare who can't even afford to pay child support, a child deserves fit parents, not welfare bums who will pass on the family tradition of living off the government, I know too many of those people.

I thank God everyday I didn't accidentally have kids with some of the whores I was with, I don't want to be eternally tied to some bitchy skank who is going to antagonize me everytime I want to see my kid, some of the girls I was with weren't so bad but some were a fucking nightmare.

A lot of you will say "herp derp COPE you're an incel", fucking morons you really think it hurts my feelings when an ugly guy calls another guy an incel? fucking moron, at least I used to have a life and got laid regularly unlike some of the idiots who post on here.

Some people just aren't meant for a wife and kids

Not for me

Whatever makes you happy

There's cons to everything

Wouldn't mind riding off into the sunset another 18 years with a nice woman that takes care of herself tho

Seems at my age, I have a better chance at getting pregnant than finding it

I just woke up in the middle of the night, reflecting on life and stuff. I think that the prospect of NOT having children makes the rest of my life seem like going down a mountain, while the prospect of still having children makes it seem like first having to go up a mountain for 20-25 years before finally going down, but I'll be old as fuck by then, nearly at the bitter end. So I don't know about all that. Maybe I no longer want it

The world is over populated no matter how anyone tries to justify it. If you can't have quality kids and support them, don't even think about bringing one into this world.

I think the main driver of trying to have children is feeling sorry for my wife and wanting to see her life purpose fulfilled, becoming a mother. But honestly for me personally, I don't know if I truly care so much. We are all going to be dead in a couple of decades and that will be the end.

have you and your wife thought about adopting kids? If you really wanted to raise someone, you could do that as well as help provide needy kids a home.

You've said numerous times how you don't like your wife and she sleeps on an air mattress in your living room.

How odd...

For me, everything else lined up perfectly. Good career, good work life balance, amazing wife, etc. So having kids seemed like the next logical thing to do, plus it's awesome having a little version of you running around and watching them grow and learn. It's hard work, but it's rewarding work.
