Corn is a starch.
Not a healthy one, but its mid summer.
Of fucking COURSE we are going to be eating fresh corn on the cob.
A cob of corn every 4-7 days won't hurt anything. Especially if its only one of the VERY carbs you are eating

Also throw in half a teaspoon of Ceylon cinnamon , as it’s supposed to lower blood sugar .
It gets crazy when you have diabetes as you have to start reading labels . Faurk ,literally everything has added sugar and you have to do a lot of research
I’m off corn now though

when it is stable, you don't really get hunger pangs. and even more so when you revert back to real food, and start just to see food as fuel. you naturally feel you've had enough, and if you keep yourself busy, 20 hours can easily go by (including sleeping), and you won't have realized you haven't eaten.
it's why it's often good to have a last meal quite late. 7pm, then by the time you've woken up, by noon you're already at 17hrs. throw in some steps. do that for a few months, and it's pretty hard to still be in the 240s. as long as you don't binge or hit up the booze which really slow things down
with the labels and added sugar, once you realize 90% of the stuff they sell in the store is a "food product" and not real food, it really narrows down the selection of what we should be eating
but now they are fking around with fruit and veg. bananas, cumcumbers that bend almost 90 degrees and dont snap/break naturally, watermelon that also bends like rubber. they are fking with everything so it just lasts longer on the shelf

rice used to give me cravings after eating it, and to me its like a comfort food, so i dont really mess with it anymore as it isn't very filling. i could probably eat 700cals of it and still be peckish a while later. 1000 cals i would be stuffed, but then for that massive insulin spike will just make me feel sluggish and want to take a nap - kills the rest of the day when i want to be productive - isnt worth it. i never have that issue eating mostly cheese/some meat
wondering what i will eat tonight. possibly 6 hard boiled eggs + slice beef from yesterday, maybe some gherkins, tiny pickled onions, and a couple of slices of brie cheese.
or, buy a french stick bread, and make a long ass sandwich. not really sure
anyway brah, good to see you are fast approaching the 230s

Ok not sure why I’ve been a feeling a little weak as if I have low blood sugar, but the numbers are good . I tried to start a fast yesterday and had soup and quiche for lunch , but by 9 o’clock after mowing my lawn I was weak AF .
I had no choice to have a glass of milk with protein powder and amino acids . I did take sea salts , potassium and magnesium earlier with no improvement.
I wanted to do my back workout and it was literally impossible with how weak I felt , and after eating some cashews and that protein drink things went back to normal.
Right now I think instead of fasting , I’ll have lunch, but for supper it’s going to be my protein drink and some nuts .
I posted it on another thread but I’m down to 241 which is another milestone. It’s really weird as I was stuck at 247.5 for what seemed like an eternity, then all of the sudden one day I’m down over 6 pounds?
I’m hoping to get into the 230’s very soon , and hopefully the 220’s in the fall . The objective is to get in the 190’s, but not making any promises lol

I have been living mostly on soup and on occasion a slice of quiche , but for lunch today I had some bacon and a 4 egg omelette. I felt really good after that and have had literally no hunger pains all day . I just had a glass of skim milk with meat base protein and amino acids .
I think by just having one decent meal a day and a shake for supper that I may see some improvement.
Tomorrow for lunch I’m going to have a steak and vegetables , then do the shake again in the evening before my workout.
One very good thing is my vision is vastly improved by having little to no sugar. You can’t get away from sugar completely, as even skim milk is 4% sugar .
I left out that I have a half pint of frozen yogurt 5 days a week from a specialty shop here . It’s made with Stevia and has no effect on my blood sugar whatsoever. It’s hot AF right now and it’s really the only treat I get other than berries on occasion. I don’t think it’s holding me back

I keep getting this bad pain under the right side of my lower rib cage when I drink whiskey.
So I quit and hadn’t drank rye and coke for over a year and a half .
Unfortunately on my 65th Bday I thought wtf, celebrate with some rye for the last time . Next thing you know that pain was back but never left this time , and I’ve got diabetes right when it happened.
Makes me sick that I could have avoided all this by cutting out most chocolate and hard liquor . It didn’t help that I couldn’t walk very far for 4 months ,or that I fked my tendons in my arms so badly when I tore out my old chimney that I couldn’t even tilt a full glass of water .
Had I been active I also don’t believe this would have happened. Now I’m forced to eat properly with no more treats , which probably isn’t a bad thing , but I’m missing getting rinsed once every 6 weeks srs

I haven’t been feeling as well as I was and I think because I’m not eating enough vegetables. Gotta bump them up again

Well I’m doing something right
In the 5’s morning or night . When I was making protein shakes I was in the 7’s - 9’s first thing in the morning. I don’t know if I just improved and can back to making protein shakes with frozen fruit , or if I’ll have issues again.
But things have been really good lately .In theory I don’t even need to poke myself anymore , as I can tell when my blood sugar is high in the mornings now by how I feel , as all the nausea is gone

You could try making a shake and see what happens/ what you test at. I'm hoping there's some recovery of the pancreas with this work you're putting in.

Would be wicked if it didn’t go out of control again, but I have my doubts . Will report back

i would start to skip on the protein shakes (not sure how many you have a day), and even milk. unless it is really filling and allowing you to go hours more without eating. if you have to eat a couple of hours after consuming that - it hasn't done it's job of making you feel satiated. you might be feeling lightheaded/sluggish/tired too because your blood sugar is crashing after jacking up the blood glucose and it goes down with activity.
high protein diets do spike insulin. that is what we are trying to lower. and we are trying to fix insulin resisitance by fixing insulin sensitivity.
so the dark green veg is still the way to go. you can throw on some chick breasts if you like or fish/sardines are good.
but i would start to incorporate a few hundred steps walking every hour you are awake. no BS
not sure how you track your steps. but every hour just get up and do 500-1000 if you can manage it. even 500 is fine.
the point is, you are constantly moving your body in a natural state, this forces glyocgen from the blood and liver/stored in muscles to get pushed into cells. that improves insulin senstivity. which fixes insulin resistance, and allows your body to access stored body fat. this might not be needed for someone that has always had normal hormones and is a leancell. we are talking about hormonally ill people with type 2 diabtes. they have to be active, and that doesn't mean killing themselves lifting heavy, or running etc. it's the constant activity throughout the day that will naturally fix things.
and then of course diet plays a massive role too. just stay away from processed foods. and avoid mixing high fats with high carbs. as your body in a type 2 state cannot process it.
you got this though, making steady progress. good to hear brah. stick at it and 230s are coming in the next month

Disclaimer, I use extra virgin olive oil and love the stuff . I make pork chops on occasion and use a lot of oil . Pork chops would suck otherwise .
I’m not going to cut out cooking oil and dairy tbh , guess it will just take a little longer , and I’m sure I’ll get there .
As for protein shakes , it’s basically a meal replacement. ATM I’m having one main meal and a shake for supper . I do snack on nuts to give me some energy, and I’m aware they are pretty high carb wise
