Maybe if you work hard and make lots of money...

...it'll make up for the emptiness you feel at the end of the day

But don't like to acknowledge

The existential understanding that it'll all be for nought

That you ignore

Because its acceptance is too much to bear

The abyss you'll eventually disappear into for eternity

No matter how much you achieve or don't

Like all the other people throughout history before you who were successful and wealthy...or not

It'll be different for you though

At least that's what you have to tell yourself to keep going

And striving for more and more
