How does it feel to turn 40?
38 and a half, mentally preparing for that shit
Did you do something special to mark the point of no return?

Roughly 40 is when things changed.
Became very difficult to maintain a good physique.
Started setting goals for myself financially, before that I just lived paycheck to paycheck not caring about the future.
Very quickly began to see the big picture and gained a much clearer perspective on life, very quickly began to mature and lose immature habits.
Decided I wanted to start dating again when certain factors improved (losing weight, getting ripped, becoming financially stable, living alone).

My 40th took place on a new moon during the fall equinox.
It was the culmination of such significant change, as if I had died and been reborn. (In an amazing positive way)
Ded srs.

I remember when I was a 25-26 yo whippersnapper and my boss turned 43. Dude was roided up with a full set of hair yet depressed as fuck. I remember years later he suffered a massive stroke due to roids side effects probably but he's probably still alive probably still with a full set of hair

As with all things, it depends on if you're content with your life.
The only time aging matters is when you're not content with life. Losers seem to have an issue with aging, because they haven't accomplished anything so they're losing the one thing they previously had.

If you're 40 and still living like a bum, of course that's a pretty dreadful looking day.

It sucked
I broke up with someone right before I turned 39 then spent the following year in a bad period of my life (hence my username)
For age 40, I went traveling to cope and celebrated it alone in another country to not feel so bad. I didn’t do anything for my bday except do sightseeing in the new country. did meet some girl at a bar crawl event and we slept together in my hotel so that’s some positive memory I guess

Weird, but good age. If take care of yourself and have some lucky genetics, you can easily pass for much younger. Dating range etc is pretty great then - late 20's to 50 yr olds in shape. So many options, depending on if want to start a family late or not etc. You're now hopefully more chill, confident and have an easier time speaking to women as well.
Good age if don't care about that stuff either - hopefully got some more resources to explore interests and do what you want.

I found myself there though.
Extremely grateful.

In itself, nothing changes when you go from 39.99 to 40.00 years. It is only an issue because people have hyped up turning 40 to be some life altering experience, which is all down to the individual.
43 now and don't really care. I realize that I am no longer 'young' but neither am I 'old'. I not even legit middle aged yet.
