Why do so many of you look down on traveling?
I get the hating the narcissists who gloat about travel 24/7. Traveling economy class with the other poors suck. Going to tourist heavy spots and waiting 3 hours in line to snap a 2 second picture sucks.
On the other hand, I just think of all the different places and people and what it would be like to visit those places. Just like when tourists come here to America and like it so much.
I also think Traveling is a great way to slow down time in our wageslave lives.

When i was a younger man I had no other ideas for my own personal life than to to finish university and travel. Not saying it's any good, but ultimately what else should a young man want? Start investing in the stock market early? Raise a traditional family?

I get it, I hate “popular” tourist spots with the current world population and wealth distribution. Combined with a world where 80% of the people just want photos/videos for social media and don’t give two fucks about where they are or what they are doing.
It’s like they are working a business of demonstrating their fake life. And there are hoardes of them.
But like, on our family trip to Japan for example the inari tori gates was insane with people, we just went in and out.
The shrine where musashi miyamoto defeated an entire schools ambush after winning his third duel against their heads however was completely empty and we had a lovely rest of the day.
We ended up there because we cared about the history and wanted to go to a cool spot off the beaten path a bit.
I think if you can follow little threads like that when abroad instead of hitting tourist spots you can have a nice little time checking out somewhere new.
I love going for runs in new places early in the morning. Idk it’s just fun little adventures likes that, checking out different spots to eat, wandering neighborhoods, etc..
But like just got back from Hawaii vacation and the amount of people spending thousands of dollars on photo packages or getting selfies at sunset then littering on the fucking beach they were enjoying was absolutely insane to me.

Love traveling. Just got back to Europe, 1 1/2 months. Last one was 10 months ago(2 months). I cannot do backpacking/longer than that though. And shorter seems a waste esp since I am far.
Nice to see the world, experience new cultures, try new food. Meet sloots. Not perfect, and sometimes annoying but still really broaden your views. I know people who hates traveling or cannot afford it(stuck in work/married with kids), and that is fine. To each their own.

Traveling has become the middle class “flex” when it’s really escaping a mediocre life.
I find it hard to believe someone who can drop $5k - $10k without blinking has a mediocre life.

Several surveys most Americans do not have 1k saved up srs and the average household barely 8k across ALL accounts.
So no, the average American cannot afford a 5-10k vacation.
Trust, it’s debt.

I get the most out of it when I solo travel. Once you add someone, everything requires compromise. Also, without proper research or time, you get sucked into the orbit of english/tourist areas and leave feeling like you got mildly scammed instead of seeing a great place. I also feel like a dork anytime I look around and see fat Americans or selfi stick Asians when I'm abroad.
This point is arrogant, but its true. As an American, 90% of foreign countries pale in comparison. If you don't have enough time to settle in and alter habits and expectations, you feel it.

The biggest cost for a trip is the flight. Once you have that, everything else is easy

For the average person, a 300/night hotel is expensive, a 700/night is unthinkable.
If they can drop 3k cash or whatever in a vacation that means all other financial concerns are handled, not struggling……..or DEBT

Because a lot of it is overrated
Most of you spend a bunch of time packing up your shit, boarding airplanes or taking long road trips, sleeping in shitty hotels and when you reach your destination what you do is lay on the beach and hit up random restaurants the entire time.
If you can't plan out a vacation that is packed with unique activities from beginning to end of the days you expect to be there then you shouldn't travel there.
Brb went to San Diego and stayed in a city hotel you can find in every other city and ate at normal city restaurants the entire time and walked around the San Diego zoo to see the same animals you see at every city zoo what a vacation!!!!!
BRB going to NYC next year and doing the exact same fucking thing except swap zoo for a museum lol

"One day I won't be able to lift any more. Not I won't want to lift. I mean physically unable. That day could be decades from now or it could be tomorrow. All I know is that's the day I'll wish I could lift more than ever. The day I'd give anything for one more workout, one more set, or one more cardio session. So go hard and enjoy every workout, every set, every rep. Because one day you will wake up and you will never get it back."
