Miscers with EVs - how annoying is it to remember to plug it in?
I think i'd rather go to the gas station once a week than always have to be remembering to plug my car in or have fears of it running out of juice because I forgot.

We have a plug in hybrid that gets about 37 miles per charge.
Very easy to plug in at night (we installed a charger)
Actually harder to not plug in because we have to run the gas in the engine or it will go bad.
Maybe impact 5% of my total electric bill

For most people’s , set it at 80% ,you prob charge once maybe twice a week. Most people won’t even notice a change in their bill.
I drive a lot so I charge daily to 80%. Just like charging your phone, it’s on a schedule so it charges itself at the lowest cost rate.
My electricity went up about 100-110/month zero maintenance vs my fuel bill at 665/month + maintenance. It’s not even a comparison.

It literally takes like 3 seconds, you never have to go to a gas station, never have to get an oil change, never have to get it serviced in any way (except tires and brakes occasionally), and you can just do it overnight. Not “every time you get home.”

How efficient is the charging? I’ve not looked into it but let’s say you do take a longer trip and jump from charging station to charging station. How long does it take to get a full charge?

there's fast charging that can get you to a full charge I believe in under an hour, but I also think it damages the battery and its hard to find places to do that

I don’t own an EV nor have I ever ridden in one but I assume there’s a gauge that tells you how much charge is left similar to the one that tells you how much gas is left? If so then how is it any different than remembering to have to go get gas

in an EV if you forget to plug it in, you are range limited until you can sit there for hours and let it charge. you can be range limited to the extent that you cannot make it to work.
sure, you will get notifications - but shit still happens. and if it's at 50% charge, you probably aren't worried but then you can only go 100 miles that day. What if something comes up and you need to drive distance?

I have two kids so most of the time we stop for potty breaks and grab coffee, if needed 10 mins or so tops you off for a couple bucks. The car will prep itself to charge as fast as possible.
There are chargers literally everywhere, at least here in Florida. People have done cross country trips zero problems.
For example, I have had a couple of close by days and have not charged since then, still have 68% battery, good for 200 miles on the hwy.
My wife has a Model Y. Ev works for us, zero maintainance other than tires and windshield wiper fluid crazy fuel savings, no dealing with dirty fuel pumps or homeless people, especially with kids in the car.
Even if you need superchargers regularly, you are inside your cozy car with all the comforts and entertainment you want.
My wife wasn’t into it at first, now she can’t be bothered to even think about gas stations.

On a supercharger from 15%-80% prob 35 mins, after that it slows down quite a bit so prob 45-50 mins to get to 100% depending on how much juice the SC can push. The newer ones are much faster.
My last supercharge I had to piss and buy some water. Charge took 9 minutes and added 22kw prob 60-70 miles of range.
There are superchargers everywhere, most hotels now offer EV charger, some even free. I have a portable charger so worst case can I can plug into a regular 110v outlet, it will be slow as hell but will charge.
Why EV over hybrid. I got tired of wasting time at dealers, doing oil changes, transmission flushes, differentials etc, I drive 30-35k miles a year so those intervals for me come really quickly.
