I have had good years and not good years. But if I had the opportunity to go back and talk to 20 year old me, and have 20 year old me listen, this is what I would say:
-Figure out early what is important; you cannot do this early enough
-Dont spend so much money on liquor. I could have bought a brand new SUV by now
-Pick a few things and do them well and stick with them, quit chasing random crap
-Select a career you love regardless of the money, cause you never know when you will be kicked to the curb, unless you want to be self-employed.
-You treat people like crap, you will get treated like crap. Expect it, and no cryin
-Eat right.
-Whats outside (aesthetic) is important, but whats more important is who you are inside (no whiteknight, just reality, deal with it)
-Insecure people always have to have someone/something else to blame. Dont be that guy.
(More later, and BTW no amount of rage on your part will change the validity of my words):

I worked for a construction supply company for 10 years, set up their estimating dept, went from 60 bids a year to 800, and when he got tired of us, all gone bye bye see ya! He found out he could fire us all and replace us for cheaper.

how do i find out who i am and what i'm good at?
where do i go? who do i talk to?
I have no father/family, no gf, no role models for guidance...
the only thing i could have excelled at was swimming, if my parents got me into it early
right now i just want to move to spain and live a mediocre life in the sun <--- look how stupid that sounds

My dream is to be in the movie industry because I love movies, I love thinking about making my own movies or helping out in the production of a movie, etc. I know I'm very creative and detail oriented and I wanna use that in my career.
But I majored in engineering and have a 9-5 engineering job... I'm completely out of place with what I really wana do but it earns me good money.
My other dream is to be self employed or do something on the side (anything other than a full time job) that makes me rich so I can retire early and just travel and enjoy life.
So does that count as knowing what I wana do or is this unrealistic wishful thinking? I just have no idea how to get there. How do I pursue what I want? Im already 25 is my life screwed?

Hey 20 year old me:
I know a 20 something that sits around the house all day long and mopes, complains and criticizes because they went to 4 years of school, and now feel that someone OWES them a job.
DO NOT be that person.

I just want to be involved in a badass movie. A lot of ideas I've had were inspired from other movies and I always dream about making my own movie by combining some of the best elements of other movies. Being an actor would be amazing... but realistically I don't have the looks for it and I have no acting skills, so I don't think that will ever happen and I'm okay with that. But if I could write or direct a movie that would be good enough because my "job" would pretty much be a hobby.
