I hear dancing is one of the best ways of meeting people. Dance classes are a great way to connect with others and I would imagine it be so. I don't have the will to do it, thank you for this thread. I've been subscribed to it since the beginning but I've finally decided to click and read it. Keep bumping this thread Deen, there's some people you're helping out this with this thread

Do not discount the value of swing dancing in the life of a supposed FAer. You may surprise yourself.

There is a disproportionate number of males who fancy themselves as playas(or sociopaths patterning their behavior after traits exhibited by the Dark Triad, the dark triad being a group of three personality traits: narcissism, Machiavellianism and psychopathy. Narcissism is characterized by grandiosity, pride, egotism, and a lack of empathy. Machiavellianism is characterized by manipulation and exploitation of others, a cynical disregard for morality, and a focus on self-interest and deception. Psychopathy is characterized by enduring antisocial behavior, impulsivity, selfishness, callousness, and remorselessness. All three traits have been associated with a callous-manipulative interpersonal style).

These males, however, lack any of the seemingly endearing qualities that sociopaths utilize to operate effectively, and consequently coming off as just smug/selfish arse-holes. Lacking the discipline or honesty to evaluate themselves effectively and make necessary changes, they instead blame relationship and the supposed restrictions and boundaries that relationship would require.

Very odd outlook for someone your age. Do you live in Utah? You sound like a pastor.

I'm common law and will never marry. I've seen too many lose all their ****. It's disgusting. Does that mean I don't love the gal and raise the kids? Hell no. Welcome to Washington divorce court.

This is not to say that everyone falls in this category; some guys just don't want to be in a relationship; that is their choice; this is for the guys that are always tearing relationships down, saying they suck no matter who is in them and denigrate those with LTRs

Guys who expect a marriage to end up in divorce court aren't ready for marriage. I do not care if your dad, uncle and brother ended up there, you don't have to.

Great thread OP, thanks for advice + repped

I just wanted to ask, I've heard people say that "it isn't what you do, but what you don't do in your life that you regret in the end, so just do whatever the fkk you want and don't pay attention to what others think". What is your opinion of that saying? Is there truth behind it?

Yes and no. What you do is important, and how you do it is MORE important. If you are doing stuff just to please others and missing out on what is really important to you, its a wrong paradigm.

But I also do not subscribe to the lone wolf idea. Everybody needs somebody.
