Every person I've ever met, including all my friends that have tatoos, have had bouts of depression and have pretty low self esteem. I don't think any less of them, it just is what it is.

ex-Wife and step-daughter both have tatoos. Both suffer from depression and low self esteem. My step son will also probably get tatoo'd when he is 18, guess what, low self-esteem. My best friend has a full sleeve and side tatoo -suffers from anxiety, depression, and low self-esteem. Another good friend of mine has 10+ tatoos. He also suffers from depression and anxiety. Girl I was dating recently, 7 tatoos. Definatley has low self esteem and other emotional issues.

All my friends and family members that do not have tatoos, do not have any issues with self esteem or depression.

Tatoos are pretty much a huge warning flag that the person has some kind of emotional or mental issues. Maybe you are a 1%er, but I doubt it.

Or because im putting art on my body and i think thats ****ing dope. ive always admired the aesthetic beauty of tattoos (obviously good ones though)

edit: also tattoos are starting to get more popular with millenials. alot people my age seem very fondly of tattoos even if they dont have them.

Can confirm.

Have all types of tattoos and all types of issues.

30 years from now there is going to be a bunch of ridiculous looking 50-70 year olds with huge ass saggy tattoos. Remember those old 70's pictures with the funny dark eyeglasses and shaggy hair and mustaches? Yea, you just made a fad permanent on your body.

People with tattoos have about as much self-esteem as a female that "chooses" to wear makeup before they leave the house.
On a side note the truth accomplishes nothing.

30 years from now the average human will probably look like a genderless, anthropomorphic rhinocerous. Having tattoos will be the least of our worries. Huehuehue.

Yeah there's a certain general temperament with most MMA fighters. I recall at my gym that I was one of the few guys without any tattoos kinda funny lol.

I just have never really been interested in tattoos and tbh growing up given my experiences I've had a negative association with tattoos. I don't judge people harshly with them I just think most are silly/attention seeking. Obviously many exceptions but man if I had a tattoo...black guy with tattoos in many settings people would have negative connotations.

I have a chit load of ink OP. I have my chit together in life extremely well too. All my ink is either religious or sentimental in nature, none of it is frivolous art with no meaning behind it. Do I think they make me a better person? Of course not OP. Do I care what you think about them? Nah not really OP. Never had them impact my career choices or relationships. I just like them, to be quite honest. I actually like the process of getting them.

I don't have any tattoos but have been thinking about getting one. I don't think there's any moral high road in having one, thirty, or zero tattoos. Same with weight lifting -- I don't care why you do it. It's your body, do whatever you want to do.

If you're afraid of what others will think, that is the worst reason to do/not do something.
