Who's "they"? I don't know what, if any, medical evaluations people have to pass to climb that mountain, but people who have no business being there are common these days I'm told. Would be interesting to know if she'd had a medical evaluation, what did it evaluate.

I do know, Anyone with the cash can basically go and try to climb Mt. Everest. Some have suggested that should not be the case and it should only be open to advanced climbers.

Yeah, like I said I have no idea for sure. I just know if I ran a business guiding people up Everest I'd damn sure make them pass a physical and basic blood tests before allowing them to join my team.

Everest is no joke.

While not the most technically challenging mountain there is, it's sheer height make it extremely difficult.

Altitude sickness is a real killer and even bottled oxygen can't stave it off forever.
Its hit or miss. Altitude sickness can take hold very quickly and almost out of nowhere and can be extremely debilitating. It proves fatal many time.

At those altitudes and in that weather anything can kill you. Even in clear weather it's brutally cold. There is a huge area just below the summit called the Dead Zone for good reason.

Yes, anyone can try climbing Everest if they have the money. However it's not something to attempt lightly.
Once you're that high up it takes incredible physical and mental efforts to perform even mundane task such as walking and standing. There are bodies there because they simply could not do anything to help them or move them. If you fall out that high up that is where you will lay for eternity.


Who wouldn't want to try though? I know I would. It must be amazing to stand on top of the world if even for a little while.
