I was at the National Restaurant Show yesterday and if you look at the robotic devices that are coming into the restaurant industry --its cheaper to buy a $35,000 robotic arm than it is to hire an employee whos inefficient making $15 an hour bagging French fries-- its nonsense and its very destructive and its inflationary and its going to cause a job loss across this country like youre not going to believe, said former McDonalds (MCD) USA CEO Ed Rensi

automation in capitalistic theory should create cheaper products, while there will be a demographic who suffers for a period, the market will have to adjust to keep selling products.

of course, this is if you believe capitalism is the best economic system since it "is a natural system self-governed by market forces"

That's actually not true at all. Efficiency is never a bad thing. Without government intervention, the price of goods and services would actually FALL over time. You could save money under your mattress and it would actually increase in value (in terms of purchasing power) year after year.
