Utilizing a sherpa is equivalent to riding a bicycle in a marathon RUNNING race. Then posting on ******** you "completed a marathon" when actually you rode a bicycle for the entire thing.

Sherpas navigating for you - no awareness of nature and the mountain nor need to utilize risk or your mind
Carrying your sh!t - lightens your load by a hundred fuking pounds. as far as I'm concerned you have no business doing ANYTHING if you can't carry your own sh!t. You wouldn't even be able to survive without that gear and you can't even carry it?
Using oxygen tanks - sometimes I'll give this a pass but if you aren't even doing the above two, you get no pass. So disconnected from nature you are utilizing extra oxygen to climb the mountain
Is it still probably hard as fuk? Yes. Would I be embarrassed/slightly ashamed of myself for doing it this way? Yes. I may tell ppl "yeah its still fuking hard bro they and they didnt carry THAT much". but deep down I will have felt like I never truly did the climb. I bastardized one of the most legendary climbs in the history of mankind for the sake of my own ego to tell ppl "yea I did it".
Death is impossible for us to fathom: it is so immense, so frightening, that we will do almost anything to avoid thinking about it. Society is organized to make death invisible, to keep it several steps removed. That distance may seem necessary for our comfort, but it comes with a terrible price: the illusion of limitless time, and a consequent lack of seriousness about daily life. We are running away from the one reality that faces us all.

Wth...I went to reply and I guess I accidentally reported a post. I hate how your screen moves when on a tablet or phone after a page is done loading.
Anyway, I said that being a vegetarian is better than vegan if you buy from humane dairy organizations like organic valley.

never knew sherpas do so much for you on the climb...
I thought all they did was show you the best way to the summit?
Also that south summit path looks extremely dangerous compared to coming in from the opposite face

I am surprised vegans have the energy to even leave their home let alone climb Everest. If you have to keep proving to people it's working, then it's not working. Time for a juicy steak sandwich.

I feel bad that I laughed at the title.
Anyways, after reading Into Thin Air a long time ago I became pretty convinced that Everest should really only be attempted by serious high altitude climbers, and even then, a lot can go wrong. Most people have no business being anywhere near that thing.
Edit: And I just realized that this thread is from two years ago and not a few days ago.

Sad however you look at it, but how do you prevent oxygen deprivation? I doubt it has much to do with diet

"Climbing" Everest has become a rich persons way of appearing cultured on ******** lmao.
It's no different than if you went on a cruise, then posted on ******** that you were the captain of the boat.
