i dealt with so many trash in the army. Great soldiers but would never want to hang with them outside.

I read his book and watched the film. He did come across as slightly mental but at the same time he did stuff most internet warriors would never be able to do so why complain about the amount of medals he got or didn't get.

There are way bigger lies that were not addressed in OP. These lies were unnecessary and tarnished Kyle's reputation.

Most people are not hating on him they are just pointing out that he's NOT beyond reproach. Might as well not study and debate history as those empires fell and the kings have been dead for centuries.

Just going to say, my DD214 doesn't accurately reflect the medals I have either. There's one missing, just because the people who outprocessed me screwed it up and I didn't care enough to correct them.

And from talking to other veteran's, this isn't uncommon.

I'm not saying he didn't lie, but this isn't "proof."

But why do that when DEVGRU is a tier one operating group? I understand your points, but wouldn't they do that with a lower tier group like Rangers or SWCC?

Same here and by the time you're getting out you don't care enough to fix anything or possibly delay getting your dd214.

Definitely true, on my way out some decorations were missing on mine and my end of tour NAM which I felt slightly guilty about because my division put the effort into it and I felt like I shyt on them a bit for disregarding it like that.

Had it been one of those more prestigious thing and I was a guy with intentions of glorifying my military career...Id probably be a bit more vigilant.

In regards to OP he is already a well established ******* and fraud here, and probably doesnt even have a DD-214 to his actual name.

The film tried to be Black Hawk Down but failed. Was a 7/10 (BHD is 10/10). Better than American Sniper though but I don;t think that;s saying much.

A lot of soldier's embellish stories because real war is horrible. I can't imagine how messed up in the head being a Navy SEAL sniper makes you. I came very close to being in the Marines and am very glad I didn't because Iraq was terrible.

Actually have read from SEALs who knew him that he was an average sniper at best. He was in the right place at the right time and was just shooting anything that moved. It was a SEAL playground back then

Chris Kyle wasn't DEVGRU- he was in a Vanilla Team

Fun fact: if we're getting technical, 75th Ranger Regiment is Tier 2 while the vanilla SEAL Teams are Tier 3 srs
