I used to occasionally take full ice baths for college athletics. I never felt that great afterwards. Certainly not full of energy. It just helped to reduce the swelling of whatever was injured.

I would believe this guy

Been taking cold showers for a few weeks funny to see this thread. I usually start Luke warm then after soaping up will take it all the way cold for a few mins. Scalp and hair def look and feel better Not sure about my skin really but haven't got any pimples so ideas it works. My beard looks better than usual too lol. I read it's good for depression I'm not depressed but when I'm done I do feel a lot better. I think the best thing it's for is mental strength tho

I remember reading an article from Pubmed about cold showers and they tend to decrease strength gains.
*Go to the bathroom, flex in mirror and forget to pee crew*
*Shave one of my legs and pretend it's a girl in my bed crew*
*T-mobile worker laughed at me because only had one number for 5-friends/family list plan crew*

Only do cold showers in the morning to wake my ass up. Otherwise, I prefer a warm shower to relax.

Not a cold shower but similar...
I did cryotherapy today

Wanted to try this. I do cold showers every now and then. My attempts to do cold baths are super pussy lol so I decided to try this.
First minute was OK. The proctor has you rotate a bit. About a minute in a half it is a bit painful. Some people experience the 'pins and needles' effect of the cold. It was just painful since it is nitrogen and is about -100C (-212F).
I did it for two and a half minutes. Generally 2.5 - 3 minutes you reap the benefits. Pretty much the same benefits of a cold shower (improved skin, improved recovery, fight symptoms of depression, etc).
Brochure on the benefits

Cold showers/ice bath DO NOT aid in recovery. Cold constricts blood flow. Inflammation, in this case and in some injuries is the body trying to HEAL itself by sending blood and nutrients to the area that is effected. You are delaying the healing process and going against your body's knowledge.
So why are you trying to stop the healing process by constriction?
As for showers, what you feel is your body is in "fight", blood pressure/pulse is elevated.
That "high" you feel afterwards is normal.

5.5 months into no fap, and cold showers every day. I feel better than I ever have in my life srs. Other lifestyle changes have definitely contributed more than these two, but I'm positive that they're contributing.

Cold showers are legit.
My skin and hair are no longer dried out.
If you're feeling tired it will definitely wake you the **** up when that cold water first hits you.
The Japanese had a ritual known as Misogi where they would literally stand or sit beneath a waterfall. It was a purification ritual.. check it out
Granted, it would be more badass to do this under a waterfall but for now my shower will do.
