The kid shouldnt have been able to even make it in there if its such a dangerous animal in the first place. For anyone who thinks they shouldn't have shot it you must be out of your mind. Can you imagine the **** that zoo would be in if the child was killed while all those people watched? 10 times out of 10 the zoo would rather deal with a dead animal over a dead child. I bet if the kid died even though his parents are retards they could somehow sue the fuk out of the zoo because it wasn't secure enough to keep him out or something.

Without knowing how the enclosure is fenced off it's hard to say who's at fault, it's really easy to blame the parents because it seems like they should have stopped their kid getting in, however people make mistakes and the kid might have just been trying to get a better view and slipped so unless the kid was hanging over the edge and it was clearly dangerous you've got no real way of knowing (why does the zoo not have some safe guards to stop this would also be a question). It's like letting your kid walk on a wall and they fall off and crack their skull open, are you a fuking moron parent who should be shot or was it a tragic accident, the police will decide if there's any charges to bring I guess in this case.

Sadly I don't see much option other than shooting it either, while it might be playing/protecting the kid the reality is that it's an outsider on it's territory. I doubt any miscers would go into that pen themselves and expect to not be torn apart, so assuming it wouldn't do that to a kid is pretty dumb especially after it's dragged them around. It doesn't even need to intentionally want to kill the kid, it's pure strength would be like you dragging a rabbit around by it's leg and then wondering why it has broken bones/is dead, it's a "wild" animal and you can't reason with it.

While the parents are beyond stupid and completely at fault are some of you actually suggesting that they let a gorilla potentially maul and kill a small child?

Are you c*nts lacking a brain or something? if that was your child in there you damn well know you would of been the first one to advocate shooting the gorilla, it's a wild animal you have no idea of its intentions. It's a sh*tty situation and was completely avoidable but they had no choice in the end.

Stupid parent(s) not watching their children, especially near an exhibit like that where there is a way for a small child to get through.

Feel bad for the gorilla; looked like it had no intention on hurting the child. It actually looked concerned.

Sad thing is, there was no alternative.....stupid parents or not, they had to get the boy out.

Sad for that gorilla, he wasn't even aggressive with the kid. Almost looked like he was trying to help him until handlers came, those gorilla's are smart as fuk and probably more compassionate to different species then most humans.
